Carl Emerson of FreePower Ltd was a natural choice to get involved with our house project as he has a wealth of technical experience that is humbling!

I originally met Carl 20(?) years ago when he was designed very sophisticated electronic equipment for OEM companies here in NZ. From there he became infected with the possibilities of applying his technical knowledge to the renewable energy market... and he really shone when Vodafone approached me to help them design a cellular network tower in a remote area they wanted to run of PV solar modules.... I immediately got Carl to take over the project as the statistical modelling etc they wanted was beyond me!

From there (that project stopped and started over a 10 year period!), Carl designed, oversaw and helped install a range of renewable energy projects involving 100% PV solar, to combination, PV, wind + backup generator, to very complex large turn-key systems for wealthy clients where everything must start and stop automatically and provide sufficient power to run a small communities worth of power!

Carl helped to specify the configuration of the PV solar modules with the correct grid-intertie inverter and helped to ensure we complied with all possible 'issues' that Vector Energy might have thrown at us when we first made NZ history by selling our PV generated power back to the National Grid!
